After graduating from Stanford University in 2014 with a Ph.D. in economics, Daniel Fragiadakis worked as an assistant professor of economics, first at Texas A&M University and then at the Villanova School of Business.
From 2021-23, Fragiadakis worked at Upwork as an economist and as a product manager. On the Pricing, Monetization and Market Design (PMMD) team, he owned Boosted Proposals (Upwork’s first auction-based ad unit) and the Availability Badge, Upwork’s two paid tools for freelancers to gain more client engagement.
In 2024, he returned to academia, teaching courses at Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Clara University.
